This is truly amazing, the glacier retreats a mile in 75 minutes. Historic calving event from the Ilulissat Glacier, also known as the Jakobshavn Glacier, in western Greenland in 2008. The height of the ice is about 3,000 feet, 300-400 feet above water and the rest below water.

The absolute power of this glacier made me wonder if this is what the world was like when the land masses were shifting. For all our brains and technology we are no match for mother nature. This is more evidence for global warming.
