5 Story Mistakes Even Good Writers Make

These helpful hints were taken from Writers Digest, June 12th  edition.

1) Overdoing symbolism/themes

2) Trying too hard to impress

3) Failing to anticipate the reader’s response.

4) Using a hook as a gimmick

5) Leave readers hanging.

It is good to be reminded at times of how easy it is to fall into these traps in our writing. So much to learn so little time. Big Sigh!!

Quote for the day: ” The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph! “

Happy writing.

Thank you for sharing these tips. I loved the quote for the day.

    (Sorry; couldn’t help myself.)

Yes! Being left hanging is a loathing of mine. As for the others, I’m entirely guilty as charged.
