Learning To Be Bilingual

I am gradually becoming bilingual. Emphasis on the gradually. Yipee!

I am learning to play golf, and truly it is like learning another language. As if I don’t have enough trouble learning the mechanics of the game, it appears  you have to speak Golf as well. UGH!  Birdies, Eagles, Pars, hook, fore, doglegs, match play, stroke play, Stableford, albertross, hybrids , sweet spot, and so it goes on and on. (should I add another ‘and on’ here?)

My teacher tried to teach me French at school but I was hopeless, and uninterested. It could have been the fact that our teacher was boring and ineffectual, or I was lazy, or a combination of both.Which is a shame really as French helps with understanding, and writing the English language. My father couldn’t understand why I couldn’t pick it up, as he read and spoke, Latin, Hebrew, and Classical Greek. He was also an amazing pencil sketcher whereas I have trouble drawing a straight line. Dad could also play the piano and the pipe organ . However,  I am not musical either.

Hey Mum, you sure I’m not adopted? 🙂
