Back To Reality

Fingal Headland and the Tweed River

Well our holidays are over and we are home again. Did you miss me ? I tried to blog every day but sometimes it wasn’t possible. We took the caravan to Fingal ( Northern New South Wales) for a week. It was so peaceful there. I loved seeing the dolphins every day and the whales. We used to walk up to the lighthouse and look out and watch the salt spray coming off the waves in white wispy clouds.  There is a place there called the Giants Causeway and the waves just pound through there. It sounds like thunder. Very Impressive! I wish I was a painter when I see the beauty in the world, like beautiful sunrises or sunsets, or all of nature really. The caravan park is on the beach and the last few days were very windy (southerly). The poor van was rocking and rolling at times. We were amazed at the destruction as there were so many trees were lying on the beach, and the sand erosion was terrible. We went on some lovely drives to Pottsville and Hastings Point. It’s really pretty country. The Spouse caught a huge flathead which we ate for lunch. It was yummy too. The Spouse loves to fish and he was the only one that caught anything. The weather was really against us but we had a wonderful time anyway.

There was a sea-eagles nest there too and we went every day to check on the chick to make sure he hadn’t blown out of the nest. He had very conscientious parents who were there with him most of the day. It was amazing to watch them bring in fresh fish for him several times a day.

Once we got home we had to unpack the van and clean it so it is all ready for next time. Then I had to get stuck into the washing, how many clothes can two people wear? The poor gardens needed a good water too. We collected our dogs and our birds from their Aunty Nora and they were pleased to see us. They love going to her place but they love coming home again too. My budgie, Sweetie, is glued to my shoulder and doesn’t want me to go anywhere without him, and the canary, Jamie, hasn’t stopped singing. The two dogs won’t leave me alone either, my lap will be worn out soon. It’s funny isn’t it? I enjoy going away and am sad to leave but I love coming home too. Anyhow I must be off and do some more work. Good to catch up with all of you again.  🙂
