Plastic and Birds

English: Swan nesting at Tewkesbury Next to the wharf and just below the busy Avon bridge, this swan seemed quite content with her nest position. We noted some plastic ‘recycling’ going on with this construction. Sadly, wherever we walk on the banks of the Severn/Avon we see much plastic and other non-degradable rubbish (eg gas canisters), one of the down-sides of navigable waters. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

And we are supposed to be the intelligent life form ……..!

This is a shocking video. Those poor birds. I cried when I saw it. How can people be so blasé about their rubbish. I wish more people would look at this, it might make them think about what they are doing to the world, and its defenceless creatures. Sadly, I think that the people who do take the time to watch it are probably already the people who are doing the right thing. One can only hope that more coverage of this subject will wake people up don’t you think?

I’ve read at Rumpy’s blog that coke refused to recycle the plastic-trash, no matter how much birds have to die. So sad.

I wanted to share this on facebook and twitter. Was able to tweet from your site but not from theirs. I was almost afraid to watch it after seeing the turtle that grew with the plastic can holder squinching his middle. I guess we ALL just have to be accountable for our own actions. Wouldn’t that be great?
